Motion Racing Announces 2008 Plans

Preparations are in full swing at Motion Racing for the upcoming Nascar Camping World East Series season. The off-season has featured several key developments. Team owner and veteran racer Barney McRae has purchased a new house, and has relocated the race team to the shop located on the property. In addition, key personnel have been brought on board to help prepare the team's fleet of Chevrolet's for 2008. Motion Racing is pleased welcome Karl Osha and Neal Woodward to the team. Neither man is a stranger to success on the tour. Karl served as team manager for Grizco Racing during Brad Leighton's back to back Busch North Series championships in 00' and 01'. Neal has served as crew chief for former tour front runner Brian Hoar, helping guide him to his only series win and a career best 4th place finish in points for 03'.

"It's really convenient the be able to walk out my front door and have the shop right there. It makes it really easy to maximize my time and be able to be involved closely with the day to day operation of the race team. Everyone knows that Karl and Neal come with stellar credentials, and they will bring a whole new level of knowledge and preparation to the table. We will definately be coming out of the box prepared this season with our best foot forward. We have really good equipment, talented personnel; we even built a new war wagon. I'm very excited to see what we can do in 08" said McRae.

While Neal and Karl have been hard at work preparing the cars, Motion Racing has been in discussions with several people about driving duties for the upcoming schedule, hoping to build on the success the team has experienced with development drivers during the last 3 seasons.  With the season fast approaching, no deal has been struck as of yet, though the possibility is still very much open should the right person come along.

"We've talked to several people, but nothing has been put together at this time. Money is tight all around, fuel prices are soaring, and we just can't afford to race anymore for the dollar amounts we have in the past and put a top-notch product on the track. It's takes strong financial backing to succeed at this level, and everyone is struggling pretty badly right now. We would love to be able to put a deal together, whether it be for the whole schedule, partial schedule, road courses, even 1 race deals are available. Failing that, I plan on running a partial schedule with me behind the wheel should nothing materialize."

Currently, Motion Racing is planning to compete in the following 6 CWSE races, staying close to it's Northeast roots.

June 27 New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon NH (1.058 mile) 125 L

July 12 Thompson International Speedway, Thompson CT (.625 mile) 100 L

July 26 Adirondack International Speedway, Lowville, NY (.500 mile) 150 L

Sept. 12 New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon NH (1.058 mile) 125 L

Sept. 19 Dover International Speedway, Dover DE (1.0 mile) 150 L

Sept. 28 Stafford Motor Speedway, Stafford Springs, CT (.500 mile) 150 L
