Rock Maple Racing gearing up for exciting 2008 Can-Am ATV Series,

DERRY, N.H. (April 4, 2008) - While several towns across northern New
England may still be covered in snow, the region's sanctioning body for
snocross racing is already preparing to dig out the ATVs.
Rock Maple Racing (RMR) will kick off its third season of ATV racing in just
a little over a month, when teams and officials from the Can-Am Series
presented by the New England Dodge Dealers roll into Hemond's MX in scenic
Minot, Maine. After a successful debut there last September, RMR will return
to one of the region's biggest and most challenging tracks to get things
started on Sunday, May 11.
New this year for the Can-Am series is a division between East and West
points races, much like RMR does with its snocross programs. This makes it
easier for teams to run for points titles without the added expense of extra
travel. Also new is the addition of a Five-round series for "Pit Bikes,"
which have become so popular in the last few years. There will be eight
classes, broken down for Pro and Amateur riders and for 10-inch or 12-inch
wheel diameter. RMR will partner with Pit Bike Racing Association (PBRA) to
bring this exciting new class into the mix.
While there are still two dates on the 2008 schedule to be filled (June 8 &
July 13), there are four East races and four West events in place, along
with two races that will see both series in action. Round 2 will take place
on May 18 at Twister Valley in Fort Plain, NY, while Round 3 will be held on
June 1 at Crow Hill Motor Sports Park in Templeton, Massachusetts. Both
tracks hosted the Can-Am series last year and were popular among riders of
all ages.
On June 22, the series will return to Thornwood MX in Williamstown, NY,
another popular track during the 2007 campaign. On July 27, the circuit will
return to historic Thunder Ridge in South Edmeston, NY, one of the Empire
State's most renowned tracks. On August 10 the Can-Am series will debut at
historic New England Dragway in Epping, NH, as part of the speedway's Sunoco
Race Fuels ET Series & Hot Rod event.
And on August 17, Rock Maple Racing will play host to the WPSA's Powersports
ATV National tour. All the major factory-backed teams will converge on
Hemond's MX for what is sure to be the biggest ATV race ever held in the
northeast.
Twister Valley will host the series a second time on September 7, the second
of two combination East/West points races. On September 21, the circuit will
debut in Monkton, VT, in a race hosted by the Monkton Fire Department.
As autumn advances, the West circuit will return to Thunder Ridge on Oct. 5.
This race will be held in conjunction with the Central New York Motocross
Riders Association (CNYMRA) and promises to provide some exciting
competition.
And just as it has the past two years, a two-day event at the famed NHSA
Grass Drags & Water Crossing in Fremont, NH, will close out the season on
October 11-12. Fremont draws the biggest crowd of powersports enthusiasts
anywhere in the northeast, and RMR is proud to bring ATV racing into the mix
again for 2008. The NHSA Grass Drags is always a great place to see the
latest machines and gear for snowmobiles and ATVs.
In addition to Can-Am and the New England Dodge Dealers, Rock Maple's ATV
series is also proud to have associate sponsorship from Bickford's Sport
Center; Dasilva Motorsports; Ingles Performance; CDB Motorsports; Scott USA;
PowerMadd; New England Racing Fuel;  Quad Graphics and Rick's Motorsports
Electrics.
Rock Maple Racing is the eastern affiliate of the World Powersports
Association (WPSA), the national sanctioning body for snocross and ATV
racing. To see the 2008 schedule or for more information, visit us online at
