Broken Rear End Leads To A 27th Place Finish For Dumarey

KANSAS CITY, KS (April 28, 2008): Early indications were positive for Fadden Racing’s Max Dumarey in the Kansas Lottery $150 Grand after the Gent, Belgium-native qualified 11th fastest to start his second ARCA RE/MAX Series event of the season. However, a broken rear-end on the #94 BODYCOACH.NET Ford resulted in a 27th place finish for the team.

Despite the finish, Dumarey was positive following the race feeling the team had achieved a goal in their qualifying program.

“We made a step forward in our qualifying program,” said Dumarey. “One of our goals was to come out here and get a top-15 starting position and we achieved that. We’ve made huge gains in that arena and I’m really pleased.”

The Kansas Lottery $150 Grand was Dumarey’s first attempt at the 1 ½ mile speedway. After taking the green flag, Dumarey settled into the top-15 before sliding back to 18th.

“The car was pretty tight,” he said. “We went two laps down before the axel broke. It’s a little disappointing, but I got seat time, and right now that’s important.”

Dumarey will compete in a total of five ARCA RE/MAX Series events this year in addition to a full NASCAR Camping World Series East schedule. Dumarey’s next scheduled ARCA appearance will be at Pocono Raceway in August.

“We’re really excited to be able to fit the ARCA races into our schedule this year,” said Dumarey. “I really think these races are an important part of our overall goal to get me to the next level of my career. I wouldn’t be able to get the superspeedway experience that I’m getting otherwise.”
