True Value Modifieds to Green Flag Season at Monadnock Saturday The
season opener always brings lots of new cars, new drivers, new challenges, and lots of
optimism. Theyll be plenty of that for the 2009 season. Bateman has scheduled 16
races at speedways throughout The
Monadnock lid-lifter always draws well and interest in the season opener is high. Expected
entries include three-time champion, Kirk Alexander, W.Swanzey, NH; with the most series
wins (31) to his credit. Alexander has 14 victories at his home track and has
to be considered an early favorite. Windsor Locks, CT; veteran Les Hinckley, with 3 career
Monadnock wins, and 2006 champion Dwight Jarvis, Throw into the mix W.Swanzey veteran Rob Goodenough, whose first modified win came at Monadnock, and Todd Patnode, returning to the tour after a year layoff, and it will make for a crowd pleaser. Will it be a homie or an outsider in victory lane? Mike Douglas Jr, Auburn, NH; 2008 Rookie Of The Year Kenny White, Weare,NH; Ed Dachenhausen, Danbury, CT; former Monadnock winner, Sean Bodreau, Claremont, NH; veteran Jimmy Kuhn, W.Bridgewater, MA; Rowan Pennink, Huntington Valley, PA; and 2008 Most Improved driver Shelly Perry, Westerly, RI; are all expected entries. 24 cars will start the main event with starting positions determined by qualifying heats. races begin at 6 PM. Monadnock Monadnock Notes: Alexander is the defending champion of the Spring Dash 100. Saturdays race will be the 25th TVMRS race at Monadnock. Previous
Monadnock winners include: Alexander, (14) Peter Daniels, Sean Bodreau,Jim Boniface, Andy Seuss, and Goodenough (1 each) Jon McKennedy has registered and is considered a strong candidate for a championship run. Modified greats Mike Stefanik and Ken Bouchard have shown an interest in competing in selected events again this season. |
