Run Yields Podium Finish For Leighton
We had an awesome car in the Irving Oil/Subway/Harrison Concrete Ford, but it just tightened up in the final quarter of the race, said Leighton. We needed a few laps to get up to speed so those restarts really killed us. The field tightened up for the final time at lap 97 with Leighton starting in third place. He was able to hold on for third for the drop of the checkers just three laps later. It was a great race and we would have really liked to have won it, but you cant win them all! Leighton, who won earlier this year at Lee, was the first driver of the season to qualify for the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 19th, and his third place finish this weekend moved him to eighth in the point standings.
