LAKEVILLE, CT (23 June 2009) – Lime Rock Park and the American Le Mans Series – racing’s most environmentally progressive championship – are going to reward racing fans for being a little bit greener than they might be otherwise.

The effort is called the “Carpool Kickback.”

It’s simple: If you carpool to the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix 17-18 July, each eligible car gets two complimentary Full Weekend tickets (value, $90) to the 14-15 August NASCAR Mohegan Sun 200 – and on top of that, each car gets a 15% discount coupon to purchase up to six Lime Rock General Admission tickets for any 2010 event(s).

There’s only one rule: Every seatbelt in the vehicle has to be used. (We will make exceptions for those odd, uncomfortable, rarely used middle seat positions). For example, if you’re bringing a BMW 328 sedan, four people need to be strapped in. Have a 10-passenger GMC Suburban? Get 10 folks buckled up.

To participate you must come through the Main Entrance (not the Outfield Entrance), and you must arrive between 7:00am and 12:00pm (offer will not apply after 12:00pm). When you arrive, make sure you let the ticket seller know that you’re participating in the “Carpool Kickback.”

Some of the Lime Rock race fans may wonder, “Hey, what about my two-seat sports car?”

Unfortunately, the Carpool Kickback does not apply for two-seaters (but remember, any driver who comes in a cool, specialty car, regardless of the number of seats, gets to park in the Specialty Car Lot in the Infield).
