J.R. Fitzpatrick To Team With Racingtrader.ca At Scotia Speedworld

(Halifax, NS, August 31, 2009) It has been a whirlwind race season for
Cambridge, Ontario's J.R. Fitzpatrick. The Former CASCAR Champion was tapped
early this season by Kevin Harvick Incorporated to drive a limited schedule
in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Nationwide series.  J.R. has
also been running the NASCAR sanctioned Canadian Tire Series and will be
making two appearances at Scotia Speedworld's Season Finale Weekend on
September 11th and 12th.
J.R. had a strong showing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Montreal,
running as high as 5th in the 74-lap event. When the rain started to fall at
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, J.R. had positioned his #33 Chevrolet in the top
ten but an incident knocked him back in the running order. He ended up
finishing twenty-seventh in the results, which is far from indicative of
where he ran all day and with the top ten run also sent a message to the
other teams that Fitzpatrick has a bright future in the sport of stock car
racing for many years to come!
Fitzpatrick, the youngest-ever CASCAR champion, has had a solid season in
the Camping World Truck Series, running part time in his rookie campaign for
Kevin Harvick Incorporated as well as making select Nationwide Series starts
for the famed organization. Local fans will remember Fitzpatrick from last
season's NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race on the high banks of Riverside
International Speedway in which he sat on the pole and had to rally from the
rear of the field to finish second. At just 21 years of age, Fitzpatrick has
built an impressive resume north and south of the border!
When at Scotia Speedworld in September, Fitzpatrick will pilot the #23
RacingTrader.ca/Bedford Dooly's '34 Ford Coupe Legends car. Friday,
September 11th, J.R. will compete in Scotia Speedworld's Weekly Racing
Series finale. Saturday, September 12th J.R. will race with the Maritime
League of Legends Tour in a 50 lap event prior to the CARQUEST Pro Stock
Tour Season Finale.
Mark Williams, owner of RacingTrader.ca is excited to see Fitzpatrick come
to Nova Scotia to race at Scotia Speedworld. "J.R. is a popular Champion on
this side of the border and is one of the fastest rising stars in the US
right now so it's a real honour." Williams is the owner and weekly driver of
the #23 car and played a major role in securing J.R.'s appearance at Scotia
Speedworld.
