Katie
Hagar has confirmed that she will make the trek north
from North Carolina to participate in the 11th Annual
Busch Sport Scene Ride for Charity on February 6, 2010 at
the Club House Restaurant in Rangeley, Maine. Katie participates in NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program. As part of the program, she will be a cast member of the new "Changing Lanes' reality show to air on BET this year. Katie Hagar, 23, hails from Damariscotta, Maine, but moved to Sacramento, CA a couple years ago to be closer to All-American Speedway in Roseville, CA, where she was racing. After racing through out New England in the mid 2000's, the 2008 season was Katie's first with the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program. She raced for Bill McAnally Racing in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA. Hagar notched 11 top-10 finishes in 18. After her solid 2008 season, Hagar was invited to participate in the 2008 Drive for Diversity Testing & Evaluation Combine. Her performance at the Combine landed her a ride in the 2009 Drive for Diversity class with Golden State Racing. She finished the 2009 season with 1 pole, 4 top five's and 7 top ten's. She also set the qualifying track record for the NASCAR Late Models at the 99 Speedway! Katie hopes to again participate in NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program in 2010. She is a cast member on 'Changing Lanes', a docu-reality series which highlights the driver selection process for the Drive for Diversity program. The NASCAR Drive for Diversity program backs female and minority drivers in feeder series for the sport's top level. Katie will be riding an Arctic Cat snowmobile provided by PJ's Power Sports at the charity event. PJ's is the official 'Sled Shop' for this year's Busch Sport Scene Poker Run. PJ's is located right beside The Club House in Rangeley, which is the headquarters - the start & finish point for the popular annual event. PJ's has all the last minute items any snowmobiler might need on the day of the event, even new Arctic Cat snowmobiles for sale or rent! "I'm thrilled Katie wanted to be a part of the 11th Annual Busch Sport Scene Charity event this winter," event organizer and Busch Sport Scene publisher George Campbell said. "I know it's a long travel for her and she has so much going on preparing for her big year coming up racing in North Carolina." Among the drivers joining Katie are 2009 ACT Champion Brian Hoar and 2009 New Hampshire Motor Speedway Track Champion Eddie MacDonald. The event includes a Poker Run snowmobile ride during the day followed by a full evening of entertainment. The proceeds go to several charities including the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Maine Special Olympics, Travis Roy Foundation, Rangeley Snowmobile Club, Busch Sport Scene Scholarship Fund and the Camping World Series Women's Auxiliary and their various charities. Credentials for the event can be purchased for $10 in advance either at the Club House, the Rangeley Chamber or from Busch Sport Scene. The tickets will be $20 the day of the event. Busch Sport Scene is a New England based sports magazine. Current Busch Sport Scene subscribers will receive a $5 discount on the day of the event, as will NASCAR, PASS & ACT team members that present their licenses. For room availability or directions,
