NASCAR D4D Racer / Reality TV Cast Member Katie Hagar Joins Busch Sport Scene Charity Ride

Race
season hasn't even begun, but Katie Hagar has already had
a very busy schedule, including a recent trip to northern
Maine, back to North Carolina and then onto Daytona,
Florida - all in less than a week. Katie made the trek north from her home in North Carolina to participate in the 11th Annual Busch Sport Scene Ride for Charity on February 6, 2010 at the Club House Restaurant in Rangeley, Maine. After flying to Maine earlier in the week, Katie arrived in Rangeley early on the day of the event. After checking in at the Club House, she went next door to PJ's Power Sports and picked up the brand new Arctic Cat snowmobile PJ's gave her to use during the event.
Katie on the trails in Rangeley After suiting up, she hit the trails with the group that was led by Steve & Mac Dudley of the Rangeley Snowmobile Club. The ride was filmed by Mainely Motorsports and televised later, inculding an interview with Hagar. After the ride, she joined her family and friends inside for the raffle and auction, were she was among the raffle winners and even a bidder in the auction. Following the event, she boarded a flight back to North Carolina and then immediately headed for Daytona were she took place in an announcement with NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program. The 2010 Drive for Diversity Class was introduced Tuesday night at the Daytona 500 Experiences IMAX Theater. This latest group of young, talented and diverse NASCAR drivers was announced for the first time during Speedweeks, with Katie proudly among them. The drivers for the 2010 season were determined following the Drive for Diversity Combine presented by Sunoco last October at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va. Katie and the ten other drivers in the 2010 class will also be featured in a television series, Changing Lanes, developed in collaboration with the NASCAR Media Group and set to air this summer on BET. The eight-part series will showcase the development of young Drive for Diversity competitors trying to make it in the world of NASCAR racing. Katie Hagar, 23, hails from Damariscotta, Maine, but moved to Sacramento, CA a couple years ago to be closer to All-American Speedway in Roseville, CA, where she was racing. She recently moved to North Carolina where she will be racing in 2010.
