Andy Seuss Rebounds From Atlanta Opener With a Victory at Caraway

HAMPSTEAD, NH (March 16, 2010) - If Andy Seuss ever runs into bad luck
during the first event of any of his future racing seasons, he shouldn't get
too discouraged.  In fact, the New Hampshire native could see that as a sign
of good things to come.

In the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour opener at Atlanta Motor Speedway
(GA) recently, Seuss saw a top-five run fade into a 12th-place finish as
handling problems surfaced on his #47 Q Racing Oil/Rockingham Boat Modified.
The sting from that 12th-place finish didn't last long through, as Seuss
came back this weekend to lead every lap and win the Spring Classic 150 at
Caraway Speedway (NC).

"In three of the last four years, we've won our second race," said Seuss.
"I'm not so good at season openers on the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified
Tour.  I always seem to have bad luck, but we always seem to come back
strong in our next race."

Seuss' Caraway victory was the seventh one of his WSMT career and now puts
him into fourth place on the all-time win list in the series.  It came on a
weekend where Seuss set the quickest time in practice, but then attacked a
green racetrack in time trials after qualifying was rain-delayed by one
day - creating a hectic Sunday afternoon went qualifying and the 150-lap
feature were nearly back-to-back.

"That was definitely cool," said Seuss of his day.  "It's the first time
when I've raced in the daylight at Caraway and there was a good crowd in the
stands.  We just had an awesome car and I'm so thankful for that.  The
weather creates some challenges though.  There was water in the outside
groove from all of the rain and that changed the track.  Usually, I'm good
in turns one and two and that allows me to get a good run going down the
backstretch.  This time, it was the opposite.  The track was definitely
tricky though.  I was trying different lines when I was running by myself
and I got up in the water once.  I almost ended up in the fence."

Seuss was cautious of the outside groove, but not afraid of it - as that is
where he made his pass for the lead on lap one.

"I don't think that he (polesitter Burt Myers) expected me to go up there,"
said Seuss.  "I don't think that anyone expected a pass on the outside on
that day.  But I saw it as my one chance to get by Burt and it worked."

Seuss credits his Riggs Racing team with giving him the tools that allowed
him to even think about making that pass.

"It was a real privilege to drive this racecar at Caraway.  It was so good.
We got there, unloaded and didn't change a thing from last Fall."

Seuss has now moved up to second in the WSMT point standings behind Tim
Brown.

"We didn't expect to move up so much," said Seuss.  "We knew that we had to
dig ourselves out of the hole we got into at Atlanta, but I didn't expect to
start digging so much so quickly."

Before the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour returns to action at South
Boston on April 3rd, Seuss will drive the Stewart's Automotive Modified in
the Modified Racing Series season opener at Waterford Speedbowl (CT) on
March 25th.

"We're excited about going to Waterford," said Seuss.  "We learned a lot
late last year to make us a better team.  Kevin and his guys have worked
very hard over the winter to get ready for the season and we've always run
well at Waterford.  It will be a challenging race with lots of good cars
there, but I think we'll do pretty well."
