Joey Polewarczyk Jr Effort at North Wilkesboro Speedway Ends On A High Note.
N. Wilkesboro, North Carolina- Northeast Stock Car Driver Joey Polewarczyk Jr of Hudson, N.H. comes up just short in his attempt to qualify for the PASS 300-Lap event, held at North Wilkesboro Speedway, in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina this past weekend.
"We just came up short but we learned a lot and overall we are happy with the outcome, even though we did not reach our goal." said Joey.
"We tried to qualify for one of the most competitive fields that we have ever seen," Joey said. "
We were the second fastest all day Thursday in the practice sessions but we started to notice an engine problem late Thursday, which dampened our effort when it came to the qualifying day on Friday"
"After we ran our qualifying laps, in which we ran a 19.390, we knew we had to find out what the problem was," said Joey "We found a broken Distributor gear and we installed a new one in time for our Heat race"
After starting 7th in the 25-Lap Heat race, Polewarczyk Jr worked his way up to 5th spot, this would of gave them a 7th starting spot in Saturdays "Last Chance" 40-Lap race.
"We had a Spotter issue and that led to us starting 9th in our last chance race," states Joey "We were still optimistic we could pass the cars we needed to to claim the last transfer spot. We came up one spot short."
"We passed so many cars this weekend and with this basically my fourth time in a Super Late Model, I couldn't be happier with our team's effort," explains Joey "We will continue to gain experience and needed seat time in the upcoming months, as we plan to race in several upcoming PASS North races."
Polewarczyk Jr will next compete with his Super Late Model at Star Speedway on May 14th in the PASS 150 lap event.
